Knoxville Movement Collective (KMC) is Knoxville’s outdoor social club, a free nonprofit ORGANIZATION built around movement, connection, and adventure. From weekly runs to bike rides, hikes, and paddles, we bring people together to get moving and make the outdoors the best part of your week.
Our mission is to bring free outdoor social events to more people in Knoxville, creating a healthier, more active culture across the city.

Our PURPOSE
FROM the FOUNDER
Hey there, I’m Ashley!
I’m originally from Atlanta, but Knoxville has been home since 2019. I fell in love with this city because of its trails, greenways, river, and all the ways to get outside.
After an autoimmune diagnosis in college, I had to rethink what fitness meant to me. Getting outside and moving my body, at whatever pace I could manage, helped me find my way back to myself. It showed me that movement could be a way to explore, connect, and find community!
I wanted more people to experience Knoxville that way, but I couldn’t find the kind of community I was looking for. So in June 2025, my best friend Maria and I started Knoxville Movement Collective to create a place where people could try something new, meet new friends, and feel like they belong.
These days, I’m mostly behind the scenes making sure KMC keeps moving. You’ll still catch me at a pickleball match, cycling, or joining events when I can, but the best part of KMC is the people who show up and make this community what it is.
